Advertising and privacy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
The free version of ATLAS is funded by advertising. This page explains what technology we use, what data it may process, on what bases, and how to change your choices.
1. Google AdMob and ad types
We use Google AdMob to show ads. Depending on your consent and settings, personalized or limited (non-personalized) ads may be shown. Limited ads use less data for targeting but may still use technical information to deliver the ad, measure it, cap frequency and prevent fraud.
2. Consent (Google UMP)
We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage your consent where required by law. Before requesting any ad, we update the consent information and check whether the app may request ads. If you decline consent when it is required, or if valid consent cannot be obtained, ATLAS does not request ads.
Consent is free, specific, informed and revocable at any time from the app's privacy options.
3. Data advertising may process
- Device identifiers, including the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) or Android advertising ID (AAID) where available and authorized by you.
- IP address and approximate location derived from it.
- Your interaction with ads (impressions and clicks).
- Frequency, measurement and anti-fraud data, and technical device information.
4. Legal bases
Processing for personalized ads is based on your consent. Processing for limited ads, measurement and fraud prevention may rely on consent, legitimate interest or legal compliance, depending on the jurisdiction and your settings.
5. Your choices
- Privacy options in ATLAS: reopen and change your consent when the option is available.
- iOS (ATT): Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track".
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads (reset or delete your advertising ID).
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Region-specific disclosures
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the corresponding consent rules apply. If you reside in California or another jurisdiction with equivalent rules, you may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising. ATLAS does not sell personal data.
7. Children
ATLAS is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not specifically designed for children. We do not request personalized ads for users below the applicable minimum age.
8. Premium users
If you have a Premium subscription or purchase, no ads are shown and the ads SDK is not initialized for your session.
